PANORAMA TOWERS
As windows are installed and the new lift shaft bursts through the Tauranga CBD skyline, day-by-day we see Panorama Towers is set to redefine the area’s commercial landscape with its 13-storey high-rise structure. A joint venture between Carrus Group, Watts Group Investments, and Quayside Holdings, the Panorama Towers building is scheduled for completion in late 2026, aligned with tenancy fit-outs and the building being fully operational in 2027.
The mixed-use development with the lower storeys and a basement dedicated to 330 car parks, including 200 publicly available spaces accessible from Harrington Street. Above the parking area, 7 levels of commercial and office space spanning approximately 9,000m² of net lettable area will be available, catering to a variety of businesses.
Panorama Towers anchor tenant, Asclepius Surgical, will provide a modern healthcare facility headed by internationally renowned local urologist Dr. Mark Fraundorfer. Occupying floors 6 to 12, the facility will provide a full range of surgical services, including radiology, urology, and oncology treatments for both private and public patients. Asclepius Surgical will offer six state-of-the-art operating theatres, two procedure suites, and 60 beds. It will address the critical shortage of surgical capacity in the Bay of Plenty region, providing much-needed relief to both the public and private healthcare sectors.
Under the joint venture partnership, the project has benefited from tens of millions of dollars of investment, countless hours of effort, and significant construction ingenuity. Together, these have transformed the building into a worldclass medical facility that is expected to increase healthcare capacity across the Bay of Plenty by up to a third, improving access to care for the region’s growing population.
Delivering the project required six separate building consents, guiding its progression from deconstruction and structural strengthening through to construction of the tower itself. The development includes more than 2,500 tonnes of reinforcing steel, 1,500 tonnes of structural steel and 9,000 m3 of concrete, ensuring resilience to natural hazards and achieving a 100% NBS seismic rating under the New Zealand Building Code.
The regional property asset will continue to provide value across measures – financially, socially and at a regional economic level.
